Ways to Prevent Sea Turtles From Becoming Critically Endangered and Extinct

Avoid leaving fishing gears in the ocean. They may harm sea turtles and other marine species living in the ocean because they can get entangled in it and die.  

Do not throw trash and plastic in the ocean. Sea turtles may mistake it for food and swallow something they should not. 

Reduce plastic use and instead use reusable items. 

Do not disturb sea turtles and their nesting. 

Do not feed, harm, catch, kill, and engage sea turtles because it is harmful and illegal. 

Get involved in coastal clean-ups. 

Bring awareness by volunteering in conservation organizations that serve to protect endangered sea turtles and their habitats. 

Limit the use of plastic straws by using compostable straws.
